Solving headaches with custom swag

Client

Waterloo Warbirds

Project Description

Custom Aviation Hat

An entirely volunteer-based organization with privately owned aircraft, the Waterloo Warbirds offers the public the chance to step back in time to the Cold War (or even WWII) and experience what it was like to take to the skies in a historic fighter jet.

They met Dave Bannerton of Shirtboy.com at a national aircraft show, where he was exhibiting his Flyboy Headwear line, baseball caps designed without a button at the top to stop the headache commonly caused by headsets worn while piloting. Waterloo Warbirds offers a unique experience and Shirtboy.com offered to create them gear they could sell to support their organization that was just as unique as they were.

Waterloo Warbirds offers a unique experience and Shirtboy.com offered to create them gear they could sell to support their organization that was just as unique as they were.

Here at Shirtboy.com, we started off with a 100% cotton 6-panel dad hat designed for comfort. The first thing we did was replace the squatchee button on top of the cap with a MIG 15 comfort patch that's Flyboy Headwear's signature solution. We added a large Waterloo Warbirds patch to the front and embroidered their web site above the adjustable closure in the back. Finally, we sewed on four mini patches to highlight the historic aircraft available in the empty space people hardly ever use on baseball caps, creating a unique product that effectively conveys the entire Waterloo Warbirds experience.
